Inspired by H. C. Andersen’s famous fairytale: “The Little Mermaid”.
Filled with imaginative scenery, doll suit, direct movement puppets, muppets and finger puppets. of various sizes which stand out for their liveliness and vivid colors. Intense action, filled with music which transfers the viewer into the magical fairytale’s world, with humour and sensitivity.
The deep love that the Little Mermaid will feel for the Prince, will make her shine like the moon. A pair of high-heeled shoes are the conjunctive ring which begins as the Prince’s boat, and is later torn apart in the wreckage, producing two shoes the mermaid will keep as a memento. She will wear those shoes when she gains a pair of legs, and they will become the vehicle of her journey towards feminity. At the end of the show, the dolls and the message of love and self-sacrifice will be discussed with the children.
